How To: Upholstery

Reupholstering a chair can seem intimidating, but it is much easier than it looks. And lucky for you, many of the CWD textiles are suitable for upholstery! We recommend you discuss your specific project with your upholsterer before purchasing fabric, but we have provided approximate measurements so you may make a reasonable estimate of your needs. Happy upholstering!

How much fabric do I need to upholster a chair? 


7 to 10 yards depending on pattern repeat.


How much fabric do I need to upholster a sofa? 


14-25 yards depending on pattern repeat.


 How much fabric do I need to upholster a dining set? 


3/4 of a yard for two seats

For a beautiful, symmetrical look, use two 26″ x 26″ pillows and stack two 20″ x 20″ pillows in front of them. Finish it off with one 16″ x 26″ to add more dimension. There you have it: A picture perfect bed every time! Happy layering!
