How To: The Best Rooms for Wallpaper

From classic and simple to bold and graphic, the right wallpaper can instantly transform any room. Not sure which room to wallpaper? We’ve compiled a list of our favorite rooms to wallpaper with a few tips in between. Enjoy!

Powder Bath

Don’t be fearful of hanging wallpaper in a bathroom. It can give personality to an otherwise small space and gives you the chance to go big and bold without too much of a commitment.  Powder baths are preferable since there is rarely a shower or much moisture, which could affect the longterm wear of the wallpaper.

Dining Room

The dining room is a perfect place for wallpaper because it can typically feel harder to decorate because of the lack of furniture that a dining room requires. Not only does it give the room a sense of style but it helps the room feel alive and inviting, making it perfect for hosting. Don’t be afraid to go bold if you love a pattern.  Be sure to consider the size of your dining room when choosing your wallpaper. For smaller dining rooms try a bigger, less pattern to help make the room seem larger and for the larger dining rooms a busier pattern will give the room a sense of visual weight.

Laundry Room

Laundry is one of those chores that will never go away, so why not make the experience a little more aesthetically pleasing? Wallpapering your laundry room is an easy way to create a comfortable, pleasant environment that still remains highly functional. Wallpaper is particularly nice in a laundry room because there are less upper cabinets and therefore more space for pattern to be seen. You can also use wallpaper as a backsplash in the laundry room because it’s not necessary to have tile there since laundry rooms aren’t typically very wet rooms.

Adding a subtle wallpaper to your kitchen can make it warm, bright, and fresh. Since we all spend a lot of time in our kitchens, look for something simple and clean that adds a pop of color or pattern, but one that won’t overwhelm an already busy area.  We love to see a tonal grey and white because of how beautifully it pairs with marble and stainless steel appliances.

Caitlin’s Favorites: In My Purse

Caitlin's Favorites - IN MY PURSEWe all have those certain items in our purse that we just can’t be without, whether its chapstick, a planner, or an extra stick of gum. Here are Caitlin’s top 5 must-haves in her purse!

1 // I can’t survive without my mini wallet key-chain. It makes it so much easier to run in and out of stores hands free. I keep this in my pocket with the card that I need for that store rather than bringing in my whole wallet. (Color: Bright Geranium)

2 // I’ve worn Chanel Double Perfection powder for almost 10 years–it’s the absolute best!

3 // I am always on the hunt for super-lightweight planners and notebooks, and this one from Paper-Source is the lightest one I’ve found. I love to handwrite my schedule and lists so I keep this with me and use post-it notes all over it!

4 // I have to have a baby clutch so i can keep all of Chloé’s stuff separate from mine. This one is awesome because it’s big enough to fit a few diapers, creams, medicine, pacifiers, and more.

5 // A friend brought this home to me from London and I’m addicted! It is so moisturizing and has the best scent!
